When You Holiday in Perth, Experience Santa Fe!

An exciting new holiday accomodation is being developed just east of Perth, Western Australia. Soon, you will be able to experience the charm of Santa Fe, New Mexico, "The Land Of Enchantment", right here in Western Australia.

The Santa Fe style of architecture is distinctive on the outside because of its soft rounded corners, its roof beams or vigas which extend through the outside walls, flat roofs with parapets, and earth coloured render or stucco. The interiors feature stepped room dividers, nichos or small indents in the walls for displaying religious articles or pieces of art, corner kiva fireplaces, tiled floors and exposed timber lintels over the doors and windows.

The style is tri-cultural in origin. It began with the adobe structures of the Pueblo "Indians". When the Spanish arrived they introduced many influences including Moorish designs. After the United States gained the territory by treaty following the Mexican-American War, the "Anglo" influence completed the transformation.
