Welcome to the West Logan Academy of Martial Arts Inc of Hillcrest, Queensland. Home of Shito Ryu Karate in the West Logan Region. The West Logan Academy of Martial Arts is an incorporated Karate-Do club set up by the students of Kazen Kan Karate Do, servicing the area of Boronia Heights, Brownsplains, Calamvale, Chambers Flat, Drewvale, Forestdale, Greenbank, Hillcrest, Munnrubinwoods, North Maclean, South Maclean, Parkridge, Sunnybank Hills, and Jimboomba. Our Instructor is Sensei Bob Scott 4th Dan of Kazen Kan Karate Do, who provides us with over 30 years experience as an instructor, tournament Judge and Referee of State and National standing.
We are affiliated with the Australian Karate Federation, a Government approved organization to oversee the development of Sports Karate in Australia. We are also affiliated with the Australian Academy of Martial Arts Karate Do Club Inc of Wishart, Brisbane, where Sensei Bob Scott trains and it is regarded as our Hombu Dojo. The head instructor of Hombu Dojo is Shihan Graham Keleher, 7th Dan instructor.
West Logan Academy of Martial Arts Inc practices Shito Ryu Karate. Shito Ryu is one of the 4 main styles practiced in Karate. The others being Shotokan, Goju Ryu and Wado Ryu. Our Shito Ryu style is one practiced world wide by the International Shobu Kai Karate-Do organization, whose head Instructor is Sensei Fujimoto, 8th Dan. The meaning of Shobu Kai can broken down into three parts, Sho "with Honor", Bu "Budo" and Kai "organization". Thus we are an organization that practices Budo with honor.
Little Warrior Classes are held every Tuesday and Friday evening at 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Those who are feeling energetic are welcome to stay for the Senior classes.
Every Tuesday evening at 7.00pm to 8.00pm, all belt levels. Basic training and Kihon Kumite.
Every Friday evening at 7.00pm to 8.00pm, all belt levels. Basic Training and Kata.
New Location of Dojo
We have just moved to Calamvale Recreational Hall on Beaudesert Rd, Calamvale. The training Hall is located on the service road off Nottingham Rd next to the Shopping centre. Parking is available around the back of the hall.
