Fist of all remove the 4 screw cover plugs You will need to twist off the park brake grip. It should pull off the metal shaft if not you may need to try to lubricate the shaft to help remove it. Next pull the hand brake on to try to get the lever as vertical as you can. Now lift the rear of the console and maneuver the park brake opening cover over the handbrake lever.

Open the arm rest, lift the carpet at the base and remove the 2
screws. You will need to twist off the park brake grip. It should pull off the metal shaft if not you may need to try to lubricate the shaft to help remove it. If the car is equipped with power windows and/or mirrors, partially raise the rear of the console and disconnect any electrical wires. Next pull the hand brake on to try to get the lever as vertical as you can. Now lift the rear of the console and maneuver the park brake opening cover over the handbrake lever. |
Automatic cover removal

Using a wide bladed straight blade screwdriver, carefully prize the automatic cover cap from the console. Turn the cap 90 degrees to slide the cover over the T-bar. The Control lever cover can be removed through the slot as pictured. |
