SO WHAT'S NEW?

Hello All,

I used to post all my genealogy research, sources, photo's etc. etc.  from a server here at my house. The problem with this is it wasn't consistently "on air" due to many factors. One being, I live in what is known as the Costal Outback here in the sub tropics of Western Australia. One of the problems here is the very  small local power grid  which really isn't all that bad. At least I don't have to keep resetting the time on my alarm clock every week or two as I did when I used to live way out in Outback Australia. Also, summer lightning storms were a problem. When we left town for the weekend or more, we really leave town! Travelling a mere 1000 miles by air or land one way for a weekend out of town. So everything gets shut down and unplugged except the fridge. (remember.... the summer lightning storms) And in my frugal nature, my ISP now wants 55 dollars a year for a "static IP address when it used to be free! 

I think a server from the house can still be done with a dynamic IP address but it's a real pain. So I am now using the free 20 megabytes of free web space that my ISP provides as part of my account. 20 megabytes is not a lot of space if you start posting good quality digital photos of documents, gravestones, family portraits and other genealogical information. So it's all going to be text I'm afraid.

I think what I will do is put a link to the new info. But BEWARE....  once you go there, you will NOT be able to immediately return here. You'll have to go to the Main Genealogy Index page and come back here that way. Sorry about that. But it should make it easier for you to find what's been updated.
