Condingup Vineyard & Winery

Jim and Chris Creighton are the owners of this developing vineyard.
They bought this block on Fisheries Rd Condingup in 1985 and in 1986 they started building this lovely stone building for making wine, storing wine, vats, barrels and bottling facilities.
Condingup Winery
The building was near completion in 1995 and the planting began with both red and white varieties.

The first crop was harvested in 2001 and processed into wine which was bottled in 2005.

The wine grapes grown here are Shiraz, Touriga Nacional, Grenache, Chardonnay, Verdelho and Chenin Blanc, all high standard wine grapes.

Condingup WineryBeside the winery is beginnings of the main house. So far the stone kitchen and ablutions areas have been built.

Jim and Chris have built up the vineyard and winery by spending every free hour and holidays working there. During the week, Chris is a school teacher at Condingup Primary School and Jim works on Epasco Farms, where grapes are have been part of the produce in years past.

The Creightons live on Epasco Farms and travel to the winery while their house is being built. They have raised 3 children who have all helped out at the vineyard during the construction and start up.

The vineyard is still developing vines and plants and even now that wine is in production, there is still a lot of development to do. It is hoped that in the future it will be an continuing source of employment for local people.
