Condingup Cougars Football Team

The Condingup Football Club (Cougars) was established in 1983 with a few local workers and farmers. Every season since we have fielded an A grade team and reserve team.

Recruitment of players is somewhat difficult as Condingup is 65 kilometers from the nearest larger town, Esperance. To overcome this problem the club has a bus that ferries players from Esperance for training nights, and other social functions. Our club is the social hub during Winter with a strong family input catering for girlfriends and wives and children.

The club also has junior football teams in under 12/14/16 which are based in Esperance because of larger numbers of available children. However these junior teams play some games in Condingup each season. We have had an under 12 premiership team with most of that side continuing on to play senior football. Those that started the club now see their sons in the side.

Our numbers are falling in the area, so with the help of Elders group, we have started a training course to help provide employment in the area for families to fit into agricultural work. As a result of this project we hope to garner some more players for our club and other families to support our community.

Our other premiership side was a reserve side pictured above. The club boasts new change rooms, a good ground and function rooms with excellent kitchen and bar. We are a financially viable club with a good support committee and a ladies committee where you could make good friends with good people.
