Most farms in the area contribute to the sheep industry, whether for meat or for wool.
Much outside labour is employed for necessary procedures such as, drenching, crutching, mustering and shearing.

The cattle industry East of Esperance is substantial. Mainly Angus cattle are bred for beef and most farms in the area close to the coast run beef as well as sheep and growing crops, because the high rainfall allows it. The cattle shown here are on Peter Erderley's farm.

Grain is sown after rain during May to July. Aroona Station in this area devotes 12,000 of it's 30,000 acres to cropping. The crops grown here are wheat, canola, barley, oats and lupins. The season lasts from November to January depending on the season. Some casual labour is always available. The grain is received at Beaumont Bin which holds 10,000 tonnes of grain and employs casual labour during the season.

Trees are becoming a very popular industry in the Condingup area. The variety grown is Blue gums.
Aside from the businesses mentioned above, there are several other employers in the townsite.
Overnight and holiday accommodation is only available at Duke of Orleans Bay Caravan Park in cabins or camping sites.
Houses for long-term rental or sale are available in the town of Condingup.
