I can supply a range of mallets designed for use with most classroom instruments. Mallets come in various sizes and hardness,
to suite various instruments. The general rule is, the higher up the range of the instrument,
the harder the mallet needs to be to enable the instrument to speak. So, for example, you would want a softer and larger
head on a mallet for a bass xylophone, and a smaller and harder head on a soprano xylophone. Using a hard mallet on a bass
xylophone tends to bring out the higher harmonics, or, if you like, gives the sound a harder edge, and does not allow
the fundamental note of the bar to sound. This might be required in specific situations, but mostly it just sounds unpleasant.
A soft mallet used on a soprano xylophone or a glock just does not give much sound, and often results in the bar being
bounced off the instrument. Having said this, there are times when this rule may not apply, i.e. using a soft felt mallet
on a soprano metallophone can sound very nice, if a little soft.
Mallets that I manufacture are made with grey PVC handles, that can stand a reasonable amount of punishment
(certainly better than wooden handles). I also provide a range of mallets sourced from elsewhere.
Saito model 1500 Vibraphone. As new instrument. 37 hard aluminium alloy gold anodised bars, range F33 to F69. Infinitely variable very quiet motor with linear fader. This vibraphone is an original Saito 1500 frame that was aquired by myself, without the bars. As such I have manufactured all the bars on this instrument. It has been played by a professional player who was unable to distinguish between these bars and the originals (borrowed for the purpose of comparison). Price: $7000. Musaics Orff Style Bass Xylophone. This classroom xylophone is a full 2 octave instrument with
rosewood bars, made right here in Australia. This means that all parts, including spare bars etc are easily
available. Bars are carefully overtone tuned.
Price $770 (GST inclusive), making this the cheapest 2 octave bass xylophone in Australia, as far as I know.

Suzuki Orff style Xylopones. The Suzuki classroom xylophone range represents good value for money.
Bars are made from good quality African
Rosewood (also known as Padouk) and are tuned to a consistantly high standard. The boxes are made from chipboard
which tends to be a bit heavy, but are generally sturdy. Parts for all Suzuki instruments are generally easily
available. This is an instrument for which I can guarantee support and repairs.

Angel Soprano Orff style Glockenspiel. Brand new instrument, made in the style of a metallophone, in that it is not
just built
on a frame, but an actual box resonator. This helps make it much stronger than glocks that are on a frame only.

go to G or A above this.

Behavioural Observation Assessment Chime Bars, or Tone Bars.
These chime bars, or tone bars as they are often referred to, are tuned to 250hz, 500 Hz, 1khz, 2khz and 4khz respectively.
They are used by audiometrists and
paediatric audiologists involved in Behavioural
Observation Audiometry Assessment. This particular range featured wooden resonating chambers. I will be changing this

Oakridge Semi Acoustic Classical Guitar. This is a used instrument in perfect condition. This is a cheaper student guitar,
or suitable for someone who wants a sturdy instrument that can be knocked around the house or classroom. Comes with a bridge
pickup and preamp that features bass, middle, treble, volume and presence controlls, as well as a notch on/off button.
It appears to have a solid top, but sounds more like a ply top instrument. It plays very well,
as I have set it up with a low action. Electronics work perfectly, with even volume across all strings.
This is a great "hack" guitar, ideal for classroom use where ones needs the option of being able to plug it
in for added volume.

Antonio Aparicio AA40F Flamenco Guitar. This is a new instrument, though I have played it a little, because it's
so nice and easy to play. In perfect condition. Sycamore sides and back, solid spruce top, and rosewood fingerboard.

Cort MR 700F NS semi Acoustic Guitar. This is the same model as the instrument mentioned above, but in natural finish.
This guitar has a slight mark on the top, aproximately where the fore-arm rests. This is a small indentation. It has
no affect on the perfromance of the guitar, and is purely cosmetic. It also has a small break in the side near the cutout.
This has been repaired, and though it is clearly visible, has no effect on the performance. In my estimation,
this instrument is a standout amongst other
MR 700's. Compared to the one mentioned above, and others I have played, it has lots more power and clarity.

Oakridge Resonator Semi Acoustic Guitar. Model DB-2CE, mahogany back, top, back ,and sides. Rosewood fingerboard, pickup,
volume and tone controlls, diecast machine heads, chrome plated hardware, tobaco sunburst finish.
This instrument is unused, but has been repaired. The wooden ring holding the resonator cone in place was not secured
properly when manufactured, and had come loose. When repairing I have added extra screws securing this wooden rim, and
so this instrument is in better shape structurally than an off the shelf new one. It does however have some signs
of this repair, with some of the extra screws visible from under the side of the cover plate. The instrument also has
2 small marks on the top, which are very superficial. I feel the extra rigidity in regluing and screwing this in place
has tended to improve the sound of the resonator cone a little, as it tends to have a slightly better response when
compared to a similar one that is new off the shelf.
This guitar normally retails for $700.

Cort Earth Mini Guitar. Dovetail neck joint, 3/4 mini Dreadnought, solid Spruce top and mahogany back and sides,
arched mahogany back. This is a great little guitar, ideal for travelling. This instrument
has some very small chips along one of the edges. To small to photograph.

Electa Warrior Electric Guitar. Double cutaway basewood body, Set maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, 2
high output covered humbucker pickups, double locking tremulo, fingerboard locknut, die cast machine heads.
This guitar has a Gotoh tremulo system, which is better than the original. It has a small mark on the body, in
the form of a dent, that has not penetrated the finish, and does not affect the guitar at all.
I find this guitar very nice to play. It looks a bit out there, but is very comfortable to play when sitting down, sitting
very easily on ones leg. Nice neck etc.

Suzuki half size Violin. This is a new instrument that has some damage which has been repaired. There is a split in the top that runs from the end to the start of the F-hole, on the right hand side, i.e. opposite side to where the chin rest is positioned. This is difficult to see in the photo. I am able to email more detailed photos on request. Comes set up with dominant strings, bow and case. Price: $150.
Dolfin 3/4 size violin. This is an as new instrument, model 2871, made in Korea. It is a few years old but never played. Dolfin instruments have a varied reputation, depending on which model the brand was judged on. This one, being made in Korea, was one of the better ones. It is a well made instrument, with ebony fittings etc. It has a new case and bow, and comes set up with dominant strings. Price: $270.
Dvorack 3/4 size Violin. This is an as new instrument, made in Checkoslovakia. It is a few years old but never played.
It still has original factory strings. It is a well made instrument, with ebony fittings and a good sound.
It comes with original case and bow which are in as new condition. This instrument would benefit from a better set of strings,
which I can provide at a reasonable cost.

Edward Tauscher Viola. This viola was hand made in Germany in 1980. It has a few superficial marks on the top and bottom,
but otherwise a beautiful viola in perfect condition
with good tone and lots of volume. Body length is 15.5 inches (39.5 cm), string length is 14.2 inches(35.8 cm).
Price: $800.
Walter Muller Viola. This Viola is hand made in Germany in 1980. It has a few superficial marks on the top and bottom,
but otherwise a beautiful viola with good tone and volume,
in perfect condition. Body length is 15 and 13/16 inches (40 cm), string length is 14 and 3/8 inches (36.4 cm).
Price: $800.
Hofner half size cello. This cello has been repaired, the neck being reset after it was broken away, as pictured. This repair was carried out over a year ago, and has been stable since. Cello comes with Dominant strings, bow, and soft carry bag. Apart from the repair it is in perfect condition. Price: $600.
Old Three Quarter Violin. This is an old three quarter size violin. The measurements are: body length is 340 mm,
string length is 310 mm, overall length is 560 mm. It probably needs the end pin repositioned slightly ,
as the tailpiece is not centred on the end of the body. It probably also needs new pegs, could do with new strings, and
probably a new bridge if one really wanted to bring it up to speed. Otherwise this violin
is in very good condition. It has some superficial marks on top, but no splits of any kind. It also comes in an old
wooden case as shown, which is also in reasonably good condition. The original bow is also included,
though this would not be usable in its current state.

Old Violin Case. This is an older wooden violin case, with a nice original carry handle. Some of the
veneer on the back of the case is missing, as shown. The front, where the clips close the case,
is in much better condition. The inside is in reasonable condition, but could do with new velvet lining
as used in newer cases. The case is big enough to allow for the fitting of some lining and still house a
violin. Would suit someone wanting an old style case, or as a decoration.

Laney LC30-II Guitar Amplifier. This is an all valve 30 watt guitar amplifier, with all the classic valve sounds. Features
a 12 inch Custom Celestion speaker, 4 EL84 output valves, 2 ECC83 pre amp valves, hi and low inputs, 2 channels, Accutronics spring
reverb tank etc. Made in the United Kingdom.

Laney TT100 Guitar Amplifier and TT412A quad box. This amp is a 100 watt all valve amp head with a Laney quad box.

presence, boost, damping etc controlls, as well as MIDI in/out/through with

Laney P20 15 watt Guitar Amplifier. This amplifier is brand new, still in it's box. This is part of the Laney DSP series

Laney Linebacker LR35 Guitar Amplifier. This amplifier is brand new, still in it's box. Great little 35 watt practice amp.

Laney B2 Bass Guitar Amplifier. This combo bass amp is a bit rare in Australia. Needs to be played to be believed.
Amazing versatility. It's a bit heavy but has wheels on one side for easy transport. This one has been sitting around,
unused, for a while, but is in as new condition except for a little dust.
Power output: 2 x 750 watts into 2 ohms, 2 x 550 watts into 4 ohms, 2 x 350 watts into 8 ohms,
1 x 1500 watts into 4 ohms, 1 x 1000 watts into 8 ohms.

Spectrum AS1204UD mixer. This unit features 12 channels, has USB and optical digital interface, as well as the usual co-axial audio out. This is an ideal low cost home studio mixer. Simply conect to your USB port and away you go. Will record with any audio recording software, no sound card required. The mic inputs are reasonable quality with very low noise. The unit also has 16 digital effects on board. All in all, perfect for home recording, or for use in a school recording environment, that doubles as a small live audio mixer. Price: $300.
Universal Tiger Power Amplifier. This is an old design power amplifier. It was built in the early
70'ies from an American Popular Electronics project published in 1970. It will deliver 80 watts RMS per channel
into 8 ohms, and 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms. This amp was built by a very competent technician friend of mine.
It has not been used for at least 35 years.
I recently had it looked at, as it was not working. The only problem was a defective fuse holder.
The servicing technician was very impressed with the construction quality, and was surprised that such a unit should
ever stop working. It now works fine.
Please be aware that this is an old design, and won't have the same audio specs as a modern day power amp.
I have also found that it takes a fairly high input signal to give a high power output, so you will need to turn
up your mixer fairly high. It also comes in a chipboard box I made up many years ago. Not pretty but effective.
This would suite someone looking for this sort of sound, or someone wanting a cheap power amp to set up a home PA.

Guiatar Amplifier Stand. This stand is great for getting that amp of the floor and in a position where you can hear it nicely, and adjust all the knobs easily. The cradle is height adjustable. It dissasembles so can be packed in a bag with all your leeds and things. Price: $40.
